The long held back and rewritten Star Crackers spoof parody space opera series, a YouTube exclusive to the On Location Kat channels, also has companion stories. Four stories were completed in 2015 and have been awaiting final polishing.
Due to confusion we have removed links to the 2014 online serial story, and a 2015 full feature, but you can look that up and watch the film in two forms.
The original premise was a Star Trek like parody comedy set in space where a bunch of bungling space cops were sent on missions to planets where command knew they would totally fail. The joke was that these working guys would actually sometimes succeed!
In searching for a publisher for this, it has been an ongoing journey that as of yet hasn't been found.
We expect this to be out with sister series Distant Destinies in 2017.
The series though is books, and not in the same universe, and these are also books.
So there is not a 'show' being produced here. Some confusion arose there. These were at one time scripts for an aborted 1990s series, as were those of the other, but since then were made into 'season long' novels.
Star Crackers 'novels' exited the gate first in 1993, as stories, followed by Distant Cousins in 1996, what later became Distant Destinies. You will not find versions of either online because none of the early stories ever went out.
In the mid 2000s, all were revised and released to be published eventually, but Distant Destinies appeared first, didn't do well, and all of them were postponed until a time when it could sell.
Now they could sell.
Tentative release of book 1: March 2017, 25 years after the release of the first edition video storybook in 1992, and it's immediate disappearance into obscurity. Well this one is not going to disappear. It's great!
*Disclaimer. This is not related in any way to Red Letter Media or to the film 'Space Cop' which had a similar premise. Although we joked about the similar story, it was mutually agreed there wasn't enough of one for them to take any action.

Star Crackers Will Bring Four Stories to the Internet and More
Star Crackers is a the collaboration of Adam M. Browne and Jon Yeager, two friends since junior high who have been making parodies and films since then.
Adam Mayer Browne is the author of the book series Distant Destinies, also due to make a comeback, of which Yeager was creative advisor for the 7 book rewrites. The first book of that aired in 2008.
The Kal Kat show, 2009-2015 was their online show under their stage names, Kal Kat and Marx Cards. The current stories are Kal Kat reviews and Marx Cards occasionally appears, and Kal Kat blogs, which also occasionally stars him, and sometimes Jim Buffkin, Jimticon.
Star Crackers began about the same time Distant Cousins took off, which later became Distant Destinies because of a similar name out there.
The original 1992 fan film appeared to a limited local release in a Bay Area town and never made any money.
In 2010 it was released on DVD after some editing from a 2005 reshoot of many scenes.
Then in 2012 they completed the film and released it officially after getting retakes and engough money and talent to finish it.
The stories however had been going on over those years, from 1992 to 2005, so there were several seasons, and most of them were saved.
They took those story scripts and spent several years rewriting them as novels, ending up with four novels.
The first novel will be titled The Sphere of Influence and will be out in 2017.
